Katie Porter, Legislative Policy Analyst
Katie
joined PAI as a Legislative Policy Analyst in June 2004. She is working to strengthen PAI’s
relations with key House and Senate offices and develop new areas for
partnership with the HIV/AIDS community.
With growing attention to the HIV/AIDS epidemic on the Hill, Katie is
heading-up PAI’s efforts to monitor US funding for HIV/AIDS prevention,
treatment and care and strengthen the links between sexual and reproductive
health and HIV/AIDS. Katie comes to
PAI with five years of Capitol Hill experience. As health legislative assistant for
Congressman Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Katie worked on both domestic and
international health care issues, including legislation that created the
President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. She received her BA in History from the
University of New Hampshire.
