Malissa Lash, Development Officer
Malissa
Lash is
a Development Officer with Population Action International. Prior to joining PAI, Malissa was a
Program Officer and one of the founding staff at Tsunami Fund, a 501(c)4 fiscal
sponsorship organization located in The Presidio, San Francisco. There, she was responsible for program
and business development, and worked with entrepreneurial nonprofit
organizations focused on lobbying and advocacy, across a range of issue areas
including gun safety, renewable energy, pro-choice public education, Latino
health in California, civil marriage, domestic violence prevention, and civic
engagement. During her time in San
Francisco, Malissa also worked as a project manager at the Tides Center. She is one of the founding board members
of Young Women Social Entrepreneurs, a Bay Area nonprofit that supports women
leaders in the development of sustainable for-profit and non-profit social
purpose ventures. Previously, she
worked as a community organizing intern for the Guatemalan Human Rights
Commission in Washington, DC. Malissa holds a BA from American University in
International Relations, with a focus on development and economics, and is a
yoga teacher trained in the Vinyasa tradition.
